Alison Poste

As an emergency manager and associate business continuity professional, Alison Poste is driven by community resilience. Alison has been involved in numerous emergency activations and recovery efforts throughout Alberta and B.C. Alison has been the recipient of a number of awards for her work, and recently co-authored an article on best practices in the ‘virtual’ management of emergencies, published in the Journal of Emergency Management. As the current emergency planner for the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, Alison is working with the 25-member friendship centres in B.C. to develop emergency plans and increase the capacity of urban Indigenous communities to prepare, respond to and recovery from emergency events.
