Indigenous firefighters in Nova Scotia receive wildfire training

Nova Scotia is among the first provinces and territories to deliver training as part of a Natural Resource Canada-funded two-year pilot project focused on wildfire training programs for Indigenous communities.

Twenty Mi’kmaw firefighters received wildfire training last month from Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources and Renewables and the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, CTV News Atlantic reported.
