Inside B.C.’s Capital Region Tsunami Information Portal project

B.C. Premier’s Innovation and Excellence Awards selected the Capital Region Tsunami Information Portal as a 2023 finalist.

A collaboration among GeoBC, 13 local governments, three electoral areas and nine First Nations, the web portal launched last year centralizes tsunami risk mapping across B.C.’s capital region. Residents can find information regarding tsunami risk as well as action-oriented public safety information.
